Bozeman Physical Therapy | What We TreaT
Physical Therapies: Our Specialities
Our gentle therapies treat a wide variety of symptoms and conditions, including: acute and chronic pain, headaches and migraines, neck and back pain, sciatica and joint pain, TMJ syndrome, head injuries, concussion and whiplash, and many more.
Physical therapist Sherri Martinez enjoys working with all ages, and the therapies used (described below) are gentle enough for everyone: from newborns to the elderly.
Lymphatic Drainage Therapy
Lymphatic Drainage Therapy is a gentle manual therapy used to assess the rhythm, direction, depth and quality of the lymph flow in the superficial and deep lymph vessels anywhere in the body.
This approach helps to decrease areas of pain and tension, calm the nervous system, reduce swelling and edema, headaches, head injuries, digestion issues, recovery from surgery, improve joint mobility, improve the immune system and many others.
Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle manual therapy to assess the deeper restrictions in the body that are contributing to a person’s symptoms. It helps to release tension patterns in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and optimize overall health and movement.
This therapy is helpful for head injuries/concussions, headaches and migraines, joint mobility, trauma, stress, anxiety, neck and back pain, digestion issues, colic, torticollis, plagiocephaly, fibromyalgia, sciatic, post surgery, jaw and joint pain.
Dry Needling
Dry Needling uses acupuncture needles to treat areas of pain and tension.
This approach is helpful for acute and chronic pain, joint mobility, post-surgery, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, headaches, sports injuries, and muscle strains.
Brain Therapy
Brain Therapy helps to relieve chronic pain and tension, headaches, decreased joint mobility, traumatic brain or head injuries, PTSD and trauma, auditory/visual or vestibular processing, problems with concentration, birth and feeding difficulties, postural problems, gait issues and sleep while optimizing motor development and treating the primary cause of physical dysfunction.
Movement and Breathing Awareness
Movement and breathing re-education is an important aspect to optimize posture, improve the efficiency of how the body moves, decrease pain and tension, and continue to experience more ease with activity.
Movement and breathing awareness re-education help by looking at how the body is moving, where there are or are not optimal movement patterns that may be contributing to a person’s symptoms. Breathing can also be affected by tension patterns in the body or from postural asymmetries.
When a person can move more easily and breathe more freely a person will experience less pain and tension, prevent injury and wear and tear on joints, and feel more relaxed.
